Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund Help Migrants On Border

The Colibri Center for Human Rights has been working for many years in order to provide relief to the families of the people who have died or gone missing while crossing the United States and Mexican border. They are run by the family and nonprofit.

Larkin and Lacey base their group on three main ideas. One of these ideas is their Missing Migrant Project. This project is used to gather information on the people who are missing. The volunteers at the Colibri group visit with the families who are looking for someone and they help them to create very detailed missing persons reports.

This differs from the way this is usually handled because they focus on the small details that allow the medical examiners to better identify who the bodies could be. They take down distinguishing features and unusual items that would stand out to coroners. Read more: Village Voice Media | Wikipedia

They then send these reports out to all of the agencies in area which makes it more likely that the people will be found. This provides relief to the families who are looking for someone and do not know what happened.

The Colibri group is also starting a new DNA program that is making vast improvements to the way that bodies are identified. Every year, there are hundreds of bodies that are never claimed because they cannot be identified. This is due to the severe weather circumstances in the desert where the border is. The volunteer travel around to the families and collect DNA samples from them. They then send these samples to the genetics labs in the areas so the data can be matched with the DNA that was collected from the bodies. This is helping to locate more bodies.

The third idea that the Colibri group uses is their family network. This is meant to provide support to the families that are missing someone or have had a family member die on the border. It also helps the Colibri group to gather information about what better ways that they can help these families. Their main goal is to help the families who have suffered due to the unjust treatment of immigrants.

The Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund is an organization that funds other human, civil, and migrant rights groups in Arizona. They focus specifically on the issues that arise on the border between the United States and Mexico. The Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund was founded by Jim and Michael, two journalists.

They are also the founders of Village Voice Media and Phoenix New Times. The Sheriff of Maricopa county arrested them in the middle of the night after they released information that the sheriff was trying to cover up negative information about himself.

The two journalists sued the county for being arrested unlawfully and the court finally ruled in their favor. They were given over $3 million in settlement. Wanting to use this money to help others who had also been violated, they decided to create the Larkin & Lacey Frontera Fund. Lacey and Larkin used the money to fund other activist groups in the area.
